Staines case: acquitted person held

By Our Staff Reporter

BHUBANESWAR SEPT. 29. Anirudh Nayak alias Andha Nayak, the only accused to have been acquitted in the Graham Staines case, has been arrested along with Ranjan Sahu, a member of the Dara Sena, for fomenting communal tension at Padiabeda in Mayurbhanj district of Orissa.

Andha Nayak and Sahu were instigating people to raise their voice against cattle traders and creating communal disharmony at a weekly market in Padiabeda village under the Thakurmunda police station limits, according to police. Holding 13 persons guilty of involvement in the killing of the Australian missionary, Graham Stuart Staines, and his two sons, the Designated CBI court in Bhubaneswar had acquitted Andha Nayak for want of evidence against him.
