Portions of the meteorite had fallen on a house the village. While the house was gutted, three persons had suffered burns.

The GSI team, which visited Mayurbhanj, has reported about the findings which resembled metallic flags, a senior official of the GSI Regional Office here said.

The official, however, said that nothing concrete could be said about the nature of the items collected unless the same were tested in the GSI laboratory.

The team which visited Sudusudia has gone to the adjoining Bhadrak and Balasore districts in search of the remnants of the meteorite.

Reports had been received from some villages about falling of the portions of the meteorite in these two districts.

Another GSI team has also gone to inspect the fragments of the meteorite in Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts, the GSI official said. It had been reported that two dark-coloured pieces of rocks had fallen at Suniti village in the Mahakalpada area of Kendrapara.
