Match abandoned

Chennai Oct. 23. The opening match of the TVS Cup triangular limited-overs cricket series between India and New Zealand at the M.A. Chidambaram stadium here was abandoned due to rain today.

India, after winning the toss and electing to bat, were 141 for three after 26.5 overs when monsoon showers halted the play. India will take on Australia in the next match at Gwalior on Sunday. — PTI
