Jail term for policemen

New Delhi Oct. 23. Five policemen were sentenced to rigorous imprisonment by a Delhi court for causing the death of an 18-year-old boy by inflicting injuries while in custody.

Holding the Delhi Police Sub-Inspector, Romesh Kaushik, and constables Mahesh, Surender, Savanta and Ramesh guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, the Additional Sessions Judge, S.N. Dhingra, ordered a six-year jail term for the Sub-Inspector and five years for his subordinates. — UNI
