Vaiko remand extended till Nov. 10

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI NOV. 5. The judicial remand of eight MDMK leaders including the party general secretary, Vaiko, arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, was extended up to November 10.

They were produced before the first additional sessions judge, P. Devadoss, as the special judge for POTA cases, L. Rajendran, was on leave today.

Mr. Vaiko told presspersons that as the Supreme Court had reserved its orders on his petition for squashing Section 21 of the POTA, under which he was arrested, he had nothing more to say and he was awaiting the orders.

The eight party leaders are Mr. Vaiko, Sevanthiappan, Illavarasan, Ganesan, Azhagusundaram, Ganeshamoorthy, Bhoominathan and Nagarajan.
