Jogi must go: PM

By Mohammed Iqbal

BIKANER NOV. 18. Accusing the Congress of adopting "double standards" in corruption cases involving the high and mighty, the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, today demanded the resignation of the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Ajit Jogi, following the filing of chargesheet against him in the case of alleged forgery of a document and said that Dilip Singh Judev had shown the way by quitting when the charges of accepting a bribe were levelled against him.

"The Congress is following one rule for its Chief Minister and another for the Union Minister. Corruption and democracy cannot be allowed to coexist with the adoption of different codes of conduct for different people," Mr. Vajpayee said addressing a rally marking the launching of the BJP's election campaign in Rajasthan. Mr. Judev had announced that he would not resume office until proven innocent and the truth would come out with a CBI probe having been ordered, Mr. Vajpayee said.
