ULFA kills 4 Bihari drivers

By Our Diplomatic Correspondent

Dhubri Nov. 18. Four Bihari truck drivers were gunned down and seven seriously injured by suspected ULFA militants tonight in Assam's Dhubri district.

Police here said two armed ultras came on a motorcycle to a highway eatery at Baxir Hat under Golakganj police station around 7.16 p.m. and opened fire on the 25 truck drivers watching the India and Australia tri-series cricket final in Kolkata, killing four on the spot.

The self-styled commander-in-chief of ULFA, Paresh Barua, had threatened action against Hindi-speaking people and asked them to leave Assam following the attack on Assamese train passengers in Bihar by students there on November 11 and 12. — PTI
