32 killed in Moscow fire

Moscow Nov. 24. Thirty-two foreign students were killed and 127, including Indians, injured when a fire ripped through a `quarantine' dormitory crowded by students who had recently arrived for studies in a university here today.

The fire broke out in the five-storey dormitory of the People's Friendship University at 2 a.m. (local time) when most of the students were fast asleep. It took nearly three-and-a-half hours for the fire fighters to extinguish the blaze. — PTI
