Letters to the Editor
Sir, The death of Murasoli Maran has left a void in the line of politicians having a humane approach to politics. He belongs to a rare breed of politicians who are upright and forthright in expressing their views. May the likes of him increase, especially in Tamil Nadu where political opponents are regarded as enemies, not adversaries.
S. Sundararaman,
Sir, Murasoli Maran's brilliant performance at the Doha ministerial conference of the WTO not only made him an able spokesman for India but also for the developing countries.
K.V. Ezhilan,
Sir, You have paid a well-deserved tribute to Murasoli Maran ( Nov. 25 ). That a former Prime Minister shared the present Prime Minister's high appraisal of him was evident from the fact that both of them came to Chennai to attend his funeral.
K. Vedamurthy,
Sir, I was surprised that no Cabinet Minister of the Tamil Nadu Government attended the funeral of Murasoli Maran, a former Cabinet Minister at the Centre. This shows the level of deterioration of the political culture of the State.
N.S. Venkataraman,
