Singhal accuses PM of inaction over temple issue
AYODHYA,
MARCH 21.
The VHP president, Ashok Singhal, today accused the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, of not doing anything "substantial" for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and said this would cost the BJP a two-thirds majority in the coming Lok Sabha polls. Speaking to reporters here, Mr. Singhal expressed the hope that the next Lok Sabha would enact suitable legislation for the construction of the temple as there was a possibility of an out-of-court settlement after the formation of the new government at the Centre.
He said Mr. Vajpayee would again become the Prime Minister, and the BJP return to power although with a reduced majority.
