Kolkata IIM accepts fee cut
By Our Staff Reporter
KOLKATA. April 6. The Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, today accepted the proposal of fee cut mooted by the Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development. However, it did not mention the amount it would slash and said it would depend on the subsidy promised by the Government.
In a resolution, the Chairman of the Board, Y.C. Deveswar, said that the net fee to be charged would be an equation of "net current fee less subsidy provided by the HRD Ministry through equivalent funding of the IIM-C."
The decision follows the Ministry's assurance that the financial consequences of implementing the Government Order would be fully funded by the Government and would not adversely affect the institute's plan to develop world class teaching and learning infrastructure.
