CBI to challenge bail for stamp paper scam accused

MUMBAI, JUNE 15. The Central Bureau of Investigation will move the Supreme Court challenging the bail granted to suspended Mumbai Crime Branch inspector and co-accused in the fake stamps paper scam, Vashisht Andale by a Bench of the Mumbai High Court today.

Terming the decision as "unfortunate", the CBI sources said they would challenge the decision "soon".

Sources said that apart from the evidence collected by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) against Mr. Andale, including electronic evidence in the form of audio conversation, the CBI also found clinching proof.

``One Sajju, who used to maintain Telgi's laptop and was interrogated along with Telgi at Delhi recently, had provided a confessional statement in which Andale figures along with several other officers from Maharashtra to whom Telgi allegedly paid money'', they said. — PTI
