Held for possessing forged passport

NEDUMBASSERY, JUNE 15. Emigration officials at the Cochin International Airport Ltd. today detained a passenger for possessing a forged passport. A resident of Jaffna in Sri Lanka, Mr. Arumugam (26) was intercepted on arrival at the airport. He was to travel to Paris via Abu Dhabi by the Gulf Air flight GF 271. He was allegedly using the passport of a Pondicherry resident, Jean Paul by replacing the photograph.

On interrogation he told the officials that he had got the passport from a Chennai agent on paying Rs. 2 lakh. He was arrested by the Chengamanad police.
