Bihar-centric, says Rajasekhara Reddy
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
JULY 6.
The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, says he is "not at all happy" with the way Andhra Pradesh has been treated in the introduction of trains, construction of new lines, doubling works or electrification.
The Chief Minister said he expected a fair deal with a proper share of railway development in the State. But the budget turned out to be "Bihar-centric."
Asked if he would take up the issue with New Delhi, Dr. Reddy said there should be no difficulty in taking up struggles to protect the State's rights vis-à-vis development since there was a Congress-led Government at the Centre also. He said the budget was common-man oriented. It was helpful to industrial growth as the freight charges in transportation of heavy machinery had been brought down.
