Bandh hits life in Arunachal Pradesh

By Sushanta Talukdar

GUWAHATI, JULY 14. Normal life in Arunachal Pradesh came to a standstill today following a 24-hour-bandh called by the Opposition Congress to press the Centre on its twin demands for recall of the Governor, V.C. Pande, and imposition of President's rule in the State.

There were no reports of any untoward incident from any part of the State. In the capital, Itanagar, normal life came to a grinding halt with business and market places keeping their shutters down. Streets wore a deserted look with vehicular traffic off the roads.
