Entrance test to fill management quota: SC hearing today
By Our Legal Correspondent
NEW DELHI,
JULY 14.
The Supreme Court will hear tomorrow a petition filed by the All-India Medical and Engineering Colleges Association seeking permission to conduct an all-India common entrance test for filling seats under the "management quota" in medicine, engineering and other professional courses. A Bench of Justice Y.K. Sabharwal and Justice D.M. Dharmadhikari will hear the petition filed by the association president, T.D. Naidu.
According to the petitioner, over 1,000 unaided self-financing professional colleges formed the association to meet the growing need of deserving candidates beyond the boundaries of the State for filling seats under management quota for 2004-2005 through an entrance test.
