KOLKATA, AUG. 14. Teachers and students of Welland Gouldsmith School, where Hetal Parekh studied till she was raped and murdered by Dhananjoy Chatterjee in 1990, today held a special prayer for both the victim and the perpetrator of the deed after the execution at the Alipore Central Jail.

``We have been traumatised for the last few months. Now, finally the thing is over. We don't want to talk about it anymore,'' the principal of the school, Gillian Rosemary D'Costa Hart, said after the prayer.

``We prayed for Hetal's soul. Dhananjoy has got the punishment for the sin he had committed, but we sympathise and pray for his family,'' she said.

Dhananjoy was the liftman-cum-security guard at Anand Apartment here, where Hetal's family had once lived.

The Parekh family had shifted to Mumbai a few months after their daughter's murder.
