Sir, — Your front page photo of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad inspecting the weighing of parcels at the Danapur railway station shows that he means business. Conducting surprise checks is a novel idea that not many of his predecessors thought of. Well done, Mr. Minister.

Sir, — Mr. Prasad, it seems, has converted the office of Cabinet Minister to that of `Inspectorate of weights and measures.' Does he believe that he can stop irregularities by such experiments?
