Amardip in lead

BANGALORE, AUG. 17. Amardip Singh Malik from Army Golf Course, Meerut, took the lead with a score of three under 67 in the opening round of the Royal Challenge Southern Amateur Golf championship, which commenced at the Bangalore Golf Club here on Tuesday.

Ambala Golf Course's Manav Das is in second place, one stroke behind Amardip. Lakhan Singh, Aditya Singh and Amit Nigam carded one under.

Manav Jaini finished the day on par while Joseph Chakola, Simarjeet Singh, Mandeo Singh Pathaia, Vikrant Chopra, L. Selvadurai and last year's winner Jaideep Patwardhan carded one over.
