Hard fought win for Zainab Ali Sajjad

HYDERABAD, AUG. 17 Zainab Ali Sajjad fought hard to get the better of Mrinalini 6-5 in the first round of the girls under-12 singles of the Sports Coaching Foundation's day-night free entry tennis tournament which was inaugurated by Mr. Manmohan Singh, Director, Tribal Welfare, at the SCF courts here on Tuesday.

In another match Surya Tejaswini defeated B.Ekta Singh 6-4 after a hard fought contest.

Boys: Under-10: Rajas Khakar bt Yash Kapoor 6-0; M. Abdullah bt Surya Pavan 6-3; Yash Lakhotia bt Oman Ahmed Khan 6-2; Sai Kaushik bt Vibhav 6-3; L.Siddharth Reddy bt Akhil Pothana 6-0; Rijush Menon bt D.Vedanth 6-0.

Under-12: Rajeev Singh bt O.Ahmed Khan 6-2; R. Gowtham Krishnan bt R.Thuvaa Rakesh 6-1; G.Shiva bt K.S. Prathik Reddy 6-0.

Girls: Under-10: V. Keerthana bt Ghousia Saba 6-0; V. Soundarya bt Aparna Alapati 6-0; Ekta Singh bt Aparna Alapati 6-0; Preethi Gokhale bt Samhita 6-0; Vedathreyi bt Syeda Hussain 6-0.

Under-12: Sri Ranjitha bt Ayushi Puranam 6-0; Hamsita bt S.Nidhi Jain 6-1; Ch.Nidhi bt Ghousia Saba 6-0; K.Sanjana bt V.Srishti 6-0; Shravani bt Poorvi Jain 6-4.
