Alok, Manan to clash in final

KOLKATA, AUG. 17. Second-seeded Alok Kumar of Punjab and the seventh seed Manan Chandra of Delhi will clash in the final of the snooker selection tournament at the SAI (Eastern Centre) here on Wednesday. The group B champion Kumar defeated group A runner-up Pankaj Advani of Karnataka 5-2, while group B No. 2 Chandra stopped group A champion Rafat Habib of Railways in the other, also at 5-2, on Tuesday.

The results:

Semifinals: Manan Chandra (Del) bt Rafat Habib (Rly) 5-2; Alok Kumar (Pun) bt Pankaj Advani (Kar) 5-2.

League, group A: Advani bt Rishabh Thukral (Del) 4-1; Rafat bt B.V.S. Murthy (Kar) 4-0; Rafat bt Advani 4-0; B.V.S. Murthy (Kar) bt Thukral 4-1. Group B: Kumar bt Chandra 4-2; Chandra bt Brijesh Damani (Ben) 4-2; Kumar bt Yasin Merchant (Mah) 4-2. — Our Special Correspondent
