CPI(M) to respond `legally'

NEW DELHI, OCT. 14. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau member, Prakash Karat, today said the party would respond to the legal notice sent by the former chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Anupam Kher, to the general secretary, Harkishan Singh Surjeet, "legally."

Talking to The Hindu , Mr. Karat said: "Let us see the legal notice first. We will respond legally." As for Mr. Kher's removal, he said: "It is for the Government to explain. Other governments, too, have removed CBFC chairpersons in the past."
