Thengadi dead

NEW DELHI, OCT. 14. The labour union leader, Dattopant Thengdi, founder of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, passed away in Pune today.

Mr. Thengdi, also founded the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh to take up issues of farmers.

UNI reports:

The former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and the former Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, will attend the funeral procession of Thengdi tomorrow at Pune, BJP sources said in New Delhi.

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Babulal Gaur, expressed grief over his death.

Paying rich tributes to him, the RSS said he was an election agent of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who fought from the adjoining Bhandara Lok Sabha constituency in 1954, and wrote memoirs on the architect of the Constitution.
