ITANAGAR, OCT. 23. The Arunachal Chief Minister, Gegong Apang, today distributed portfolios among his nine-member Ministry. Mr. Apang, who expanded his Ministry yesterday, will be in charge of finance, planning, tourism, irrigation and flood control, information and public information. Zarban Gamlin, a former Lok Sabha member and first-time Minister, has been made the second-in-command with home, law, legislature, justice, parliamentary affairs and panchayati raj departments entrusted to him. Yet another first-timer in the Ministry, Tatar Kipa, has been given charge of public health engineering, labour and employment. Nabam Tuki has been allocated the portfolios of public works department and urban development, while Dorji Khandu given in charge of power and relief and rehabilitation. Tsering Gurmey has been made Minister for agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and dairy development, and Tanga Byaling of rural development and rural works department. Chowna Mein has been entrusted with education, cooperation, library and research, and C.C. Singpo given the responsibility of civil supplies, health and family welfare. Newali Tingkhatra has been made Minister for environment and forest, mines and minerals. The Ministry is likely to be expanded soon to make maximum use of the 12 Ministers permitted in the State under the new constitutional provisions. PTI
