Imams condemn arrest
NEW DELHI,
NOV.12.
The All India Organisation of Imams of Mosques today condemned the arrest of Kanchi Sankaracharya, Swami Jayendra Saraswathi, saying the Tamil Nadu Government move has shocked Hindus and Muslims alike.
The Sankaracharya is highly revered by the Hindus and he had also earned the regard of the Muslims by his constructive approach to the Ayodhya problem, said president of the organisation, Maulana Jameel Ahmad Ilyasi, in a statement here.
