Karunanidhi hails Government action

CHENNAI,
NOV. 12.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president, M. Karunanidhi, today described the arrest of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, Sankaracharya of the Kanchi Mutt, as an "honest and commendable action." He expressed the hope that the law would be allowed to take its course without any interference.
Addressing a press conference at Anna Arivalayam, the party headquarters here, he said though it could not be denied that the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Government had "close links with the Sankara Mutt," the mutt head had been arrested now.
