COIMBATORE, DEC 8. C.A. Mohammed Zamil of Labour India Public School, Kottayam, and Susan K. Joy of St. Peter's Senior Secondary School, Ernakulam, emerged the fastest sprinters in the under-19 category of the CBSE South Zone athletic meet here on Wednesday. In the boys' section, Zamil (11.4s) brushed aside the challenge of M. Rajesh (11.8s) of Cochin Refineries School, Ernakulam, for the 100m gold, while Susan (12.9s) just managed to pip S.G. Arathy (13s) of Labour India Public School for the girls 100m gold.
Girls (U-14) 110m: 1. Reshma Sara Raji (VSSC C S, Thiruvananthapuram) 11.6s, 2. Suryasree (AE CS, Kalpakkam), 3. Athira Sivakumar J. (A.J. CS, Thiruvananthapuram). U-16: 100m: 1. J. Kamala Catherine Vineetha (SBOA HSS, Chennai) 12s, 2. Geethanjali Maria (CRS, Ernakulam), 3. Rakhi E. Chiroma (BVB VM, Tirupur). 800m: 1. Liksy Joseph (LIPS, Kottayam) 2:36.9s, 2. K.B. Athulya (MMS, Hosur), 3. S. Kalaivani (AECS). 100m: 1. Susan K. Joy (St. Peter's SSS, Ernakulam) 12.9s, 2. S.G. Arathy (LIPS, Kottayam), 3. R. Aruna (SBOA, Chennai). Javelin: Evelin Rituja A.D. (St. Joseph's RS, Chennai) 26.1m, 2. R. Swathi (BVB, Ernakulam), 3. Ankita C. Choudhary (NPS, Mumbai).
