THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 8. The Kerala team which recently regained the Santosh Trophy in New Delhi, was felicitated by the Kerala Sports Council (KSC) and the Thiruvananthapuram District Football Association in two separate functions held in the city on Wednesday. At the public function at the Central stadium, Olympian Anju Bobby George presented a gold sovereign each to the members of the team on behalf of the KSC. The meeting was presided by the KSC president, C. Mohanachandran, who in his brief address reiterated that the KSC would extend all facilities and financial help to the growth of the game in the State. The KFA secretary, K. P. Sunny, the KSC standing committee member, Padmini Selvan and the team captain, Sylvester Ignatius spoke. Earlier, the Sports Minister, Dominic Presentation presented mementoes to the players and officials of the Kerala team and the Kerala University side (which won the all-India inter-university title last month) at the reception organised by the TDFA at the Sathyan memorial hall. The KFA president, K. M. I. Mather presided while the Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority chairman, P. K. Venugopal and the Travancore Titanium Products Managing Director, Eapen Joseph, the KFA secretary, K. P. Sunny, offered felicitations. The team manager, C.C. Jacob and team coach, M. Peethambaran, thanked the TDFA.
