CHENNAI, JAN. 18. AIMS Education and The Hindu Education Plus are organising a mock test on January 30 for candidates appearing for the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The `AIEEE Mock Test' will help build confidence and educate candidates on strategies to tackle difficult questions through test-discussion sessions. The test will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the discussion from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The centres are Anna Nagar, R.A. Puram, Gopalapuram, Virugambakkam, Purasawalkam and Tambaram. Registration is free. Candidates should be appearing for the Plus-Two in March. The AIEEE is being conducted for Standard XII students since 2002. The examination helps students to get into B.E, B.Tech. and B.Arch. courses in the National Institutes of Technology, Deemed Universities and other technical institutions. Last year, of an estimated 3.60-lakh students who took the examination, over 9,000 were from Chennai. This year, the number of Chennai candidates is expected to triple. Like last year, a group of experts will design the question paperfor the mock examination. Candidates will be able to interact with subject specialists and the solution and key to the questions will be provided. Mock test students who do well in AIEEE 2005 will get attractive prizes.
