Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, JAN. 18. The sky will be partly cloudy on Wednesday with minimum temperature around 21 degrees Celsius. Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 21.7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday while it was 30.8 degrees and 21.5 degrees Celsius at Meenambakkam. Humidity was 87 and 82 per cent respectively at 8.30 p.m on Tuesday.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended on Thursday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in parts of Nandanam, Luz, Porur, VOC Nagar, Foreshore Estate and Mandaveli area, due to maintenance work.

Astronomy course

The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre will organise a four-week astronomy course from this Saturday. The classes will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Birla Planetarium. For registrations, call 24410025/ 24416751. Only 50 students will be admitted on a first-come first-served basis.
