COIMBATORE: The Salzer Group here, switch and switchgear manufacturer, plans an Information Technology (IT) park here in association with Global Technical Talent (GTT) Inc, a U.S.-based IT consulting service provider.

The Rs. 15-crore project will have state-of-the-art facilities to support business process outsourcing operations and IT enabled services.

The company is on the look out for two acres (approximately), said R. Doraiswamy, Managing Director of the group. "We plan to build about one lakh sq ft."

Back offices

He explained that the group had recently started a business process operation office here for GTT and planned to expand it with 100 employees.

It (Salzer Information Services Limited) provided recruiting and administrative support services to GTT. The company also proposed to open back offices here for some more U.S.-based companies.

It would have about 25,000 sq ft in the planned IT park for its use. The rest would be rented out.

The group was also discussing this with some major IT companies, he said.

While the promoters' contribution would be Rs. 5 crores, it planned to raise the remaining amount through public offering and loan.

The group was looking at commencing works for the park by the end of this year. "Preliminary negotiations are on," he said.
