THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More than 25,000 persons, over 16,000 of whom freshers, have registered so far for the Opportunities Fair being organised by The Hindu in association with the Kerala State IT Mission of the Government of Kerala at St. Joseph's Higher Secondary School Auditorium, General Hospital Junction, here on March 25 and 26. Around two dozen top IT and ITES companies are participating in the programme. They are considering fresh graduates and post-graduates and professionals with two to ten years experience for appointment to over 10,000 posts. Cognizant is the event sponsor. The associate sponsors are Patni, Verizon and SunTec. The communication partner is the BSNL and TMIfirst, the technology partner. The participants include Network Systems and Technologies (P) Limited (NeST), WIPRO BPO Solutions Limited, Slash Support India (P) Ltd., Covansys India (P) Ltd., Allsec Technologies Ltd., ClickJobs.com, ISG Novasoft Technologies Ltd., Certus Software P Ltd., US Technology Resources, WINS Infotek Pvt. Ltd., Fischer Systems India (P) Ltd., Paragon Biomedical, Atos Origin Middle East, Iridium, Genpact, Identitymine Softwares and HCL. Sabols is the water sponsor. They will pre-screen the registered CVs of the freshers and the professionals with less than two years experience and send invitations to the selected candidates. Only the candidates selected by the companies from this category will be allowed to enter the venue. The decision of the companies will be final and no communication about it will be entertained. Separate fast track entry is being allowed for experienced professionals. Those in this category with two to ten years of experience can register any time before the end of the event and walk into the job fair with the printout of the registration confirmation form. The sites for registration are www.thehindu.com and www.tmifirst.com/hf6 /index.aspx. The Hindu has already organised job fairs in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Coimbatore. Their popularity has been increasing with each fair. Over 40,000 job seekers from all over South India had participated in the Coimbatore event held early last year. More than 57,000 candidates had pre-registered for the fair organised in Bangalore in May last.
