Bharath cracks century

Open bridge tournament

APOA convenes meeting
The AP Olympic Association has convened a meeting of all the secretaries and presidents of the State sports association on Aug. 25 at 5:30 pm at the Olympic Bhavan (Lal Bahadur Stadium) here. The meeting is to discuss the programme suggested by the organising committee of the 2010 Commonwealth Games to be held in Delhi. According to APOA Secretary L. Venkatram Reddy, the meeting is expected to discuss the role of APOA in the Games.
Open chess tournament
The Dronacharya Chess Academy will organise an open prizemoney championship from Aug. 26 to 28 at Vasavi Club, Khairatabad. The total prizemoney at stake is Rs. 15,000 with the winner getting Rs. 3500. The event will be conducted in the Swiss format. Entries close on Aug. 25. For details, contact Y.
