Sandeep's condition stable

Chandigarh: The condition of Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh, who was injured in a freak firing incident on Tuesday, was stated to be stable. He is said to be out of danger.

``He is stable, conscious and communicative. However, the functioning of his vital organs still needs constant monitoring,'' a release issued by the PGIMER authorities said here on Wednesday.

A team of doctors led by Dr. J.D. Wig had operated upon Sandeep on Tuesday and the bullet embedded in his lower abdomen was removed after a three-hour long operation. — UNI
