Saravanan scores the winner

Madurai: A last minute goal by Saravanan helped Acme Sports Club defeat Friends Sports Club, Thirumangalam, 1-0 in the Madurai District Football Association's first division league for the Hi-Tech Arai Trophy at the Madura College ground here on Tuesday.

In a well-contested match, the unexpected happened at the last moment when outside-left Saravanan lobbed the ball over the head of the goalkeeper Gunesekaran after receiving a pass from Senthil from the right.
