PALAKKAD: An impressive spell of five for 37 by fast bowler Krishna Chandran saw Central restrict North to 176 on the opening day of the three-day Jacob Trophy State senior inter-zonal cricket championship at the Fort Maidan here on Tuesday. Later, Abhinav played responsibly to guide Central to 90 for one at stumps. North won the toss and decided to use the batting strip to its advantage. But the decision seemed to backfire as Krishna rattled the top order. He got wickets at regular intervals and, at one stage, had North reeling at 63 for six. The scores: North 176 in 53.4 overs (K.
