Piyush scores hat-trick

NEW DELHI: Piyush Tandon performed a hat-trick as Amity School beat Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, 4-2 in the boys' under-18 section of the third Modernites inter-school hockey tournament here on Saturday.

Hemant Singh scored the toher goal for the winner, while Divam and Karan were successful for the loser.

In another match in the same section, S.S. Mota Singh School, Janakpuri overwhlemed Manav Sthali School 6-0, thanks to the goals by Amanpreet Singh (3), Kuldeep, Haranjeet and Ramanjeet.

In the under-15 event, host Modern School beat S. S. Mota Singh School, Paschim Vihar, 5-0, following the goals by Prithvi Raj Saigal (2), Shreyak Bhardwaj (2) and Pushkar Bobbal.

In other matches, Bhatnagar International School beat Bal Bharati School, Pitampura, 1-0 with Siddharth scoring the match-winner and S. S. Mota Singh School, Paschim Vihar, defeated Jagran Public School, 5-0, as Harjot Singh (2), Jaspreet, Harshdeep and Jasminder found the target.
