ISLAMABAD: In his meeting with President Pervez Musharraf, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee raised concerns of families of missing Indian soldiers that they may be languishing as prisoners of war in Pakistani prisons. Foreign Secretary Shiv Shanker Menon told journalists that Gen. Musharraf reacted immediately by inviting the families to Pakistan, and offered to meet and talk to them.He told Mr. Mukherjee that as a soldier, he understood their feelings and concerns. However, Pakistan has officially closed the chapter on the issue after an investigation in 2005.
