Andhra University, a 75 year-old University, accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council with 'A' Grade, invites applications from Non-Resident Indian (NRI) students for admission into the B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm./B. Arch. courses offered by the Andhra University College of Engineering in the departments of Architecture: B. Architecture; Civil Engineering: B.E. Civil Engineering/Civil Environment; Computer Science & Systems Engineering: B. Tech. Computer Science; Electrical Engineering: B.E. Electrical & Electronics; Electronics & Communication: B.E. Electronics & Communication; Mechanical Engineering: B.E. Mechanical Engineering; Metallurgy: B.E. Metallurgical Engineering; Marine Engineering: B.E. Mech. Marine/Naval Architecture; Instrument Technology: B.Tech. Instrument Technology; Pharmaceutical Sciences: B. Pharmacy; Chemical Engineering: B.Tech. Chemical Engineering/B. Tech. Biochemical/B.Tech. Petrochemical. The total number of seats available for admission under NRI category is 22.
Eligibility:
(i) The admissions are based on the merit amongst the applicants based on the total marks secured in 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Maths., Physics & Chemistry as optional subjects and who have secured 60% aggregate or 60% in optional subjects.
(ii) The candidates who have passed Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination within two academic years with 60% in aggregate or 60% in optionals are also eligible.
(iii) For the purpose of these admissions, the expression NRI has the same meaning as assigned to it under the Income Tax Act, 1961. For clarification on the expression of NRI, queries can be mailed to princauce@yahoo.com.
Fee payable:
(i) Tuition Fee: US $6000 per annum
(ii) Development Fee: US$1000 per annum.
Applications in the following proforma, with a pass port size photograph affixed thereon, together with certificate from the Head of the institution where last studied in support of qualifying examination and attested Photostat copy of entries of passport in support of NRI status, may be sent by fax to +91-891-747969, on or before 21st August, 2002.
