Singapore: Destination for Education

Just four hours away

What the students say:

1. Why did you prefer Singapore for studying abroad?

I came here to work and took some courses to enhance my knowledge. If you are asking for preference, may be it is easier to cope in Singapore culturally for those who are not exposed to living abroad.

2. What difference do you see while studying in Singapore?

School facilities are much better like library etc. No much competition to get through a course. Quality of teaching depends on individual lecturer. SIM brings practitioners to teach for most of their programs, so you get to learn more practical approaches apart from text book.

3. What is it that you like in Singapore?

Singapore is 4 hours from my place - Bangalore.

4. What are the placement opportunities in Singapore for Indian students taking up higher education? Which companies come for Campus interviews in each college or university?

It is easier to get a break if you are not choosy. But one need to work hard to get where he/she wants to go. I have no idea about campus interviews in Singapore

5. Do you plan to stay and settle in Singapore?

I don’t mind staying for a while may 10 –15 years. There are lot of opportunities in India when you are in 30s to start business

6. Does an education in Singapore provide you a global outlook? If so, in what manner?

Quite comparable to international standard.

7. Can you give details of on campus facilities in your institution?

( 8. How did you finance your education? How do you compare financing in Singapore, as opposed to India?

I am sponsored by my employer 60% on my course. By the way you can loan from banks. I guess financing in Singapore is easier where as cheaper in India if you can get entry through merit

9. What is your personal experience of study in Singapore? Do you have anything to say about the city-State's cultural mix?

Quite good. You can learn more than your expectation as like anywhare. Initiative is to be taken by you first

10. Will you recommend a study in Singapore in general for juniors back home in India?

It will be a good exposure to go beyond the borders on education at an early age not too far from family at the same time. But in my opinion, it is good for you to be with the family during the early age. You can still achieve the same results you have definite vision. It is the choice between staying closer to family or being independent. In any case exposure should be the same

11. What is the off-campus life in Singapore?

You have everything for dollars like any other place. The society is more open and accepting here than India

12. Is there any thing else that you would like to add about education in Singapore?

If you are interested in coming to Singapore Welcome….Life here is not bad for a while. For settling down you judge it better
