Sharada

``Sharada'' on Asianet, weekdays, 20.30.

(Asianet, weekdays, 20.30)

The love shared by a brother and sister is the line on which this story rides. Sharada and Dassan are looked upon as perfect examples of how siblings should be by their fellow townsfolk. A change in their family circumstances renders it necessary that the duo bring up their aunt's children. So deep is their understanding of each other that when Daasan gets a call to join the Army, Sharada is unfazed by the prospect of shouldering the entire responsibility of running the household.

Years run by and the children turn out to be smart, educated youngsters, courtesy Sharada's diligent watch over them. Sharada's spinsterhood is more pronounced than ever before and there is increasing pressure on her to get married. At this juncture, the news of her brother's return spells both joy and relief to Sharada. After a happy reunion, the duo finds that they have to yield to societal demands and get married. And soon Daasan weds Bhanu. Jealous of her husband's closeness with her sister-in-law, Bhanu slowly but steadily attempts to wean Daasan away from Sharada.

Meanwhile, Daasan goes ahead and promises his sister's hand in marriage to a senior officer. What Daasan did not know was his sister's secret love for Gopi, Bhanu's brother. Watch on to find out what happens from this point.

Vinaya Prasad, Ilavarsi, Devan and Suresh star in the soap directed by Biju Verghese.
