Film festival
THE NATIONAL Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the International Cine Appreciation Forum are jointly organising the NFDC film festival in the city. The festival was inaugurated on January 23, by the Chairperson of the NFDC, Ms. Hemamalini. The managing director of NFDC, Mr. Mukhopadhyay, was the chief guest. Mr. Devivaraprasad, director, NFDC presided. P.Parameswaran, General Manager, NFDC, welcomed the gathering and Mr. E. Thangaraj proposed a vote of thanks. The inaugural film was "Mansur-Mian-R-Ghora" (Bengali).
The other films, which are to be shown from February 4 to 8 at the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce auditorium are, ``Ekti Nadir Naam'', ``Kabhi Tum Kabhi Hum'', ``Bas Yaari Rakho'', ``Dattak'', ``Tila Danam'', ``Magunira Shagada'', ``Swapner Sandhaney'' and ``Kali Salwaar".
