Covering a span of 100 years, the serial traces the family tree of a girl born on January 1, 1901 to her great grand daughter, born on January 1, 2001. The story reflects on the changing social mosaic of a traditional family based in Thanjavur. While the story and dialogue are by S. Krishnaswamy, Gita Krishna Raj has directed the serial. A host of artistes are featured to present the saga of the four generations. Among others Seetha, `Golden' Suresh, Auditor Sridhar, Shanthi Ganesh, Baby Meenakshi, Baby Kalyani, Kanchi Initha and Swaminathan are in the cast.
