A comedy in the making

Sundar C. watches the lead pair romancing for ``Winner."

THE SCENE is a marriage hall. Somebody is running around desperately in search of a relative. A small boy is appealing to the cook to give a cup of milk for his baby sister. Some small girls are playing in the front yard. So what is special about all this? After all they are familiar vignettes that one would come across when a wedding is performed. Only these form part of a picture in the making. More romantic is the case of a young man who has come all the way chasing a girl with whom he has fallen in love. He is determined to talk to her and express his feelings. Does he do it? Mother India Movies's ``Winner'' has the answer.

The shooting was going on at a brisk pace at Vasan House and the scenes involving Kiran (Gemini fame) and Prasanth, who are doing the main roles, were sending the entire unit into peels of laughter. Not surprising because it is made by Sundar C. who has done quite a number of comedy films. What about the story line? Says Sundar C, ``This is a story about a family which is separated by love and by another love episode the family gets united. How this is done is shown in a hilarious way with sentiment. Prasanth is a village youth who comes to the city and gets a job in a choultry. There he sees Kiran and falls in love with her. He tells her that he loves her.

The hitch is she is the bride at the wedding to take place the following day. Undeterred Prasanth tries to convince her about his love for her." The film is nearly finished. Only two songs, to be shot in abroad, and the climax on two trains remain to be done.

The the fight between Prasanth and the villain is to be filmed in Hyderabad. The cast includes Vadivelu, Jayakumar, Sumithra, Riyas Khan, Nirosha and a new villain Pratabh Singh. Camera is handled by Prasath. Music is scored by Yuvan Shanker Raja. Lyrics are written by Pa.Vijai. Editing is by Sai Suresh. Dance is choreographed by Brinda.

Fights are composed by `Dhalapathi' Dinesh. Boopathi Pandian has written the dialogue with Sundar C. taking care of the story, screenplay and direction. The film is produced by Ramachandran.
