Hanumath Jayanthi
SRI PANCHAMUKHA Dwadhasabhuja Anjaneya Festival Committee (Ph: 4941753) will celebrate the 18th Hanumath Jayanthi for 10 days from January 2 at P.K. Mahal, Chitrakulam, South Street, Mylapore.
Veda parayanam and music concerts in the evening will mark the festival, which will conclude on January 11 with a procession of the deity around the four Mada streets in the evening.
At 6 p.m. on the inaugural day, Srirangam Srimad Andavan Sri Rangaramanuja Desikan will confer the titles, `Laya Vadhya Sironmani' and `Swararaga Saragnar,' on Kadri Gopalnath and Bombay Sisters, Saroja and Lalitha, respectively. The function will be followed by the violin concert of T. N. Krishnan, supported by Sriram Krishnan.
They will be accompanied by T. K. Murthy on the mridangam, Vaikom Gopalakrishnan on the ghatam and B. S. Purushothaman on the ganjira.
