To overcome hurdles

COINCIDING WITH Vinayaka Chathurti, Geethanjali of Super Audio (28535177,28535188) has produced Sankatahara Chathurti Pooja (Sacred Sanskrit Recital), a CD for the benefit of those who wish to observe the vrata and perform the puja.

Legend has it that Lord Subrahmanya advised the sages to perform this puja when they approached Him for relief from sorrows and hardship. Lord Siva, His Consort Parvati, Anjaneya and the Pandavas are said to have performed this puja at some point of time to overcome hurdles. Sankatahara Chathurti is marked in calendars and almanacs. In this CD, Sri Shanmukhasundaram, Sri Raghavendran and Sri P.S. Raghuraman have chanted the mantras under the guidance of Dr. R. Thiagarajan, Professor of Sanskrit, Presidency College, Chennai. Sri Manikkavinayakam has taken care of the music.
