The city hosts a day-long programme tracing 75 years of Hindi film music

To celebrate its second anniversary, VINMUSICLUB - Vintage Film Music Lovers' Association, is organising 75 years of Musical Journey in Indian Cinema - A Retrospect on April 22 at Ravindra Kalakshetra, J.C. Road. The event will showcase the "evolution and metamorphosis of Indian Film-Music both in Kannada and Hindi," say the organisers.
There will be a two-session event (10 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.) with hits from past Hindi and Kannada film-hits, which will be presented by Ramya Cultural Academy.
The evening will also witness Rajan (of the Rajan-Nagendra fame), a senior music director and V.K. Murthy, an ace cinematographer of the black and white era, being felicitated for their contribution to the Indian cinema. Actor-producer Shivaram, actor-director Ravee (K.S.L. Swamy), lyricist R.N. Jayagopal, ace music director Hamsalekha and director T.S. Nagabharana Will be some of the invitees for the programme.
