Rich and alluring: At the exhibition.

An eclectic mix of Burma teak and rosewood reproduction furniture, new age aluminium artefacts, abstract glass forms and tribal objets d’art make Arteriors’ Lifestyle Exhibition an interesting visual experience. An exhibition has flagged off the launch of ‘Arteriors,’ Chennai’s latest one-stop interiors boutique store focussing on period furniture, matching upholstery soft furnishings and so on.

Faultless detailing in both period style and finish makes every furniture item from Edwardian sideboards to English Sleigh beds, a work of value. Utility bars stand beside lovely glass fronted colonial style almirahs, chairs, chaise lounges and showcases. Dining tables set combine solidity with sleekness while classic style four poster beds offer elegant choices. Carefully chosen matching upholstery in cotton, silk, tussar and other fabrics are also on view at Arteriors’ exhibition.

In metal and glass

Apart from arresting tribal and Bastar lamps, candle stands and other artefacts the exhibition also offers a choice of brass antique reproduction and hand cut glass vases in circular, oval and abstract shapes. These come in lyrical colours. Also available are aluminium bowls, vases, photo frames and candle stands in abstract new age configurations, finished to look like silver and wood. Many of these are art pieces. Venetian mirrors, reproduced in all their baroque flamboyance are also on view at the exhibition. And providing a delightful contrast, are the superbly beaten antique–look mirror frames.

Arteriors’ Lifestyle Exhibition which offers hefty discounts is open till May 31. The venue: 36, Josier Street, Nungambakkam, Chennai-34.
