Birthday babies

Veteran actor Dr. Vishnuvardhan, real star Upendra and Shruthi were born on the same day (September 18) and it is a big day for their fans too. All the three stars celebrated their birthdays in grand fashion this year too. Dr. Vishnu and Upendra had some happy memories this year when they met their fans and well wishers at their respective residences.

Dr. Vishnu and Upendra have made a comeback with their films “Maathaad Maathaadu Mallige” and “Anaatharu” which have effective performances by both.

The films are also doing very well in the box-office and is getting them major critical appreciation.

Shruthi is doing two big films in which she plays the title role. The films are “Akka Thangi” and “Avva” directed by S. Mahendar and Kavitha Lankesh respectively.

Rosy days ahead for Uppi

Upendra is extremely busy with his acting assignments in Kannada and Telugu films. Though he has more number of Kannada films, he is now sought by Telugu film producers and directors of the Telugu film industry where he enjoys a substantial fan following. He is presently working in the Telugu film “Salute” in a challenging role which has Vishal in the leading role.

Upendra’s recent release “Anaatharu” has done very well at the box-office in the first week of its release. More than anything else his portrayal of a difficult and challenging role has been much appreciated. Upendra has one more big film “Lava Kusha” lined up for release this year. He is paired with Shivaraj Kumar in this film. Glamorous Charmmee is paired with Upendra in this film.


Two brand names

Sudeep and Ramya have become big brand names in the Kannada film industry with each of them having their own fan following. They had earlier worked together in the film “Ranga S.S.L.C.” directed by Yogaraj Bhat. Now both are working in two big films to be launched this year. The first one is “Kaamannana Makkalu” produced and directed by actor Gurudutt and a new film to be launched in December. The second film is being produced by Jhankar Audio and directed by Mahesh who had assisted directors like Om Prakash Rao. While “Kaamannana Makkalu” is a comedy, Mahesh’s film will be a love story.


Siblings on silver screen

Mungaaru Maley heroine Sanjana Gandhi has been getting big offers in the Kannada film industry. Now, it is Pooja’s younger sister Radhika Gandhi who is getting a big break in Kannada films. Radhika plays the heroine in a new Kannada film “Balli” which started its shooting very recently. Radhika is paired with newcomer Nandan, directed by Sudhakar Bannanje. Pooja Gandhi was present for the muhurath of the film. “I am sure my sister will achieve a greater degree of success in the Kannada film industry. She is talented and is interested to make it big in the industry,” says a happy Pooja.
