Meet the prince
He is the man of the moment. After NDTV now IBN 7 is doing an exclusive with Yuvraj Singh. The one-hour show will be hosted from his old school in Chandigarh and include guests like his father, brother, Dinesh Mongia, among others who shed light on the Yuvraj they know and have seen grow up into being one of the country’s most celebrated cricketers. The show will air on IBN 7 on Friday at 8 pm. However, the channels should keep in mind that they are the ones who criticise the players for losing form after devoting time to shooting commercials and television shows when an international series is on.
It’s fresh!
In an exciting move, Zee Cafe has announced the premieres of more than 10 brand-new ‘current-season’ shows from the 2007 US Fall line up. The viewers will now be treated to the latest shows from the US networks within days of their US launch. Neil Chakravarti, Business Head, Zee Café, says, “This is a land-mark event for English television entertainment in India. Indian viewers don’t have to wait for months anymore to catch the top shows that launch in the US. They will now watch it around the same time as American audiences.”
‘Have feet, will dance’
This has been the mantra of Shiamak Davar who is judging “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa”. But the much-acclaimed choreographer had to change his words when Sudha Chandran appeared on the show as a participant. Sudha has an artificial leg, but this has not been able to stop her from being an accomplished dancer and is already a top contender for the title. Now Shiamak says, “I have always been working with physically challenged kids and have been able to make them dance. It’s all about the spirit. It is not just about technical finesse, we are basically looking for that X-factor that makes the whole dancing experience look good. And, of course, the sweat, as my fellow judge, Jeetendra keep on emphasising.
Challenging times
After Laughter Challenge, here comes “The Great Indian Love Challenge”. This time on NDTV Good Times, the series gives an opportunity to lovers to prove how much they love their soul mates. Hosted by popular veejay Yudi, the new show gives lovers a chance to do or die…well, not exactly…but they are given three tasks. If they succeed in all the three tasks, they get whatever their loved ones want – a solitaire , an Apple g4, a Louis Vuitton ensemble , a holiday in Bora Bora, a year’s supply of chocolates, etc. The show starts this Saturday at 9.30pm.
